

Dr. Phillip M. Thompson is the Director of the Leadership Education and Development Programs and an adjunct professor in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a Ph.D. in the History of Culture from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from the University of Georgia, and an LL.M. in Health Law from DePaul University. His publications are in leadership and higher education, the history of science and technology, business ethics, legal ethics, bioethics, and medical ethics. From 1999-2005, he was the Patricia A. Hayes Professor of Ethics and the Director of the Center for Ethics and Leadership at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. He has been a consultant on leadership and ethics to a variety of organizations including the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Motorola, and Leadership Austin. Professional memberships have included the Legal Advisory Board of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism and the Board of Directors of the Texas Catholic Hospital Association. Before entering academic life, he was the managing partner of the law firm of Towery, Thompson, Gulliver and Bunch in Atlanta, Georgia.
